LPC May Newsletter and Art in the Park

May Meeting

We will do a slide show of our field trip so share your photos.  We can discuss our experiences and photo challenges.  Beverages and snacks will be served. We will meet at 7pm at the Lawrence Community Photo Studio, 720 E 9th St.

Because our guest speaker for June will discuss his photography of other parts of the world, let our photo challenge for the month be travel.  It doesn’t have to be international or your last trip to granny’s or even your vacation time.  Just what travel can mean to you.  For example, I had dinner with my 7 year old grandson last week and he gave me a half hour talk on his theory of time travel.  Sorry no photo of where he went, but it was still very interesting.  Then send in your photos to Paul before the June meeting to share of Mr. Lau’s presentation.

The Club will have a booth and as a member you can display and sell your work there.  We have a tent, tables and chairs. If anyone has some fence panels to display framed works on please bring them if you can. We ask that you spend the day at the booth if you are going to join the display. Check the Lawrence Journal World that morning to see where the booth will be. We'll begin setup at 9am. See Paul Herpich for more details.

March 1 Meeting

March 1 Meeting

We will meet at the Library Meeting Room A at 7:00pm this month.  Our guest speaker this month is one of own members; Matt Tucker.

Have you ever wanted to live in a national park for a month while focusing solely on your photography? Matt Tucker spent January as an Artist-in-Residence in Petrified Forest National Park. Matt will discuss this National Park Service program and share some of his personal experiences.

I am sure his photos will be spectacular and his experiences really interesting.  A sure talk not to miss!
